Principal Highway Engineer

Permanent role

Salary - up to £55k basic + package

Location - Cambridge
We are looking for a Principal Highway Engineer to join our client's team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Cambridge.

The Role
You will be overseeing and actively managing portfolio of projects delivered by enthusiastic and committed multi-disciplinary design team.

Managing project deliverables, site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design / constructionteams, costing and ensuring progress against the project brief.

Taking an active leading role on the preparation of tenders, tender reviews, fee estimates, scopes of work and change controls.

About You
You will be chartered with a professional institution such as ICE or CIHT (or equivalent).

Significant experience in highways design as well as practical knowledge and experience of highways design standards (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, DMRB), specifications(Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works, MCHW) and CDM Regulations.

You will ideally be experienced in leading the design in a design and build environment on road projects including directly interfacing with the contractor at all stages of the process.

Experienced in managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects and teams on large highway projects.

The Client provides design and engineering solutions for complex infrastructure projects.

With a number of offices across the UK, they undertake projects across a wide range of industry sectors:
defence, aviation, nuclear and rail to name a few.
