What you will be doing

_Communications_

  • Work closely with the Head of Foundation and Engagement and Events Manager on the development and implementation of the Foundation's communications strategy and annual communications plan, creating relevant and appropriate content to promote the Foundation's work to a variety of local, national and international audiences
  • Work closely with the Head of Foundation, Engagement and Events Manager and the AELTC Communications and Design Team on digital, publication, broadcast and social media content for internal and external stakeholders
  • Create content, including the annual review, to raise the profile of the Foundation while ensuring the quality and image of the Foundation, the Club, The Championships and the Wimbledon brand are maintained
  • Manage the Foundation's social media channels and website ensuring information is shared regularly and is up to date
  • Generate case stories from our charity partners and write impact publications to promote the Foundation's work
  • Write and distribute press releases, develop relationships with media contacts and pitch to local and national media to secure content
  • Assist the Engagement and Events Manager in delivering high quality, engaging films to grow awareness and exposure of the Foundation including organising film shoots, script writing, editing and managing film crews
  • Work with the Foundation's national and international charity partners to develop and deliver activations and content
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of our 10year anniversary and subsequent anniversary celebrations
  • Manage the Foundation brand, ensuring partners and grantees adhere to the Foundation brand guidelines
  • Ensure high quality photography is available reflecting the range of Foundation activities, organise photographers to shoot charity projects and Foundation events

_Events_

  • Write scripts and quotes for the Head of Foundation/the Foundation Chairman and produce content such as PowerPoint presentations and displays about the Foundation's work
  • Support the Engagement and Events Manager in the planning and delivery of highquality events across the year including the Foundation annual reception, Qualifying activations, and external events where the Foundation has a presence.

_General_

  • Create reports for Foundation Board meetings
  • Contribute to the overall development and strategy of the Foundation
  • Maintain knowledge about external charity communications and marketing in terms of best practice and trends
  • Any other duties within the scope of the post as may be required by the Head of Foundation

What part your role will play in The Championships:

  • Work closely with the Engagement and Events Manager on the creation and delivery of Foundation activities at The Championships including activations for our international charity partners, the Wimbledon Foundation kiosk and Explore Wimbledon activity booklets and the Coin Toss
  • Secure and manage media interviews at The Championships including those between Wimbledon Uncovered and projects supported by the Foundation

About you:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highquality copy writing skills for different audiences
  • Experience of producing content for digital communication channels including websites and social media
  • Experience of proofreading for publications and online
  • Experience of delivering events for different audiences
  • Professional and diplomatic approach with excellent interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, internal and external
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail, including the ability to multitask and prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Ability to operate in a proactive manner, taking personal responsibility and using initiative
  • Ability to work flexibly within a small and focused team often with mínimal supervision
  • Integrity and empathy with an ability to relate to people from all social sectors
  • Strong IT skills: Microsoft Office suite to intermediate level

_Desirable_

  • Experience of using photo and video editing software
  • Experience of using a database to access, store and share information
  • Enthusiasm for sport and an interest in tennis, as well as the charity and voluntary sector

Further Information

  • The role will require DBS clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the Company
  • The job holder should be prepared to work some evenings and weekends and additional hours during Qualifying and The Championships
