Job Description:
Trainee Bricklayer


As a Trainee Bricklayer, you will be responsible for learning and assisting in the construction and repair of brickwork structures.

Your primary role will be to work alongside experienced bricklayers, gaining hands-on experience and developing the necessary skills to become a qualified bricklayer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of materials, such as bricks, mortar, and tools, for bricklaying projects.
  • Learn to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to understand project requirements.
  • Assist in the layout and measurement of brickwork, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
  • Aid in the construction and repair of walls, partitions, arches, and other brickwork structures, under the guidance of experienced bricklayers.
  • Gain proficiency in using various hand and power tools, such as trowels, hammers, levels, and saws.
  • Assist in the installation of insulation materials and reinforcement within brickwork, as needed.
  • Learn to cut and shape bricks to fit specific designs or patterns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper storage and care of tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to promote a safe working environment.

Salary:
£7.00-£10.42 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Neath: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Plastering: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bricklaying: 1 year (preferred)
  • Masonry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • CSCS (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
