Key Responsibilities:

Wind on / off

  • Ensure all prerun checks are carried out on the stolen trucks and wind on and wind off stations. All faults from prerun checks are to be recorded and reported to Team Leaders/helpdesk to be informed.
  • Operate wind on / wind off station, fault finding and fault rectification.
  • Process reporting, and completing daily operation reports.
  • Remove all disc waste, print waste and process waste at the end of each shift, following the waste segregation system.
  • Ensure all discs of magazines are stored, transported and delivered to the finishing line to keep up with production requirements.
  • Ensure labelling and identification of discs is clear for the finishing team, and all discs are to be labelled.
  • Manage bad copy from the press, quarantining any defective copy for inspection by NP.
  • To liaise with the Team leader on all regions changes and quality aspects for TV magazine production.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with press crews, print managers and senior supervisors regarding overproduction.
  • To support the FLT team in the storage and transport of inserts for the finishing process.
  • Ensure delivery of inserts to the finishing lines ensuring that commercial aspects (regions, targeting etc) meet the commercial plan (line paperwork, job tickets etc).
  • Postproduction checks, and clearing of waste copy in the mailroom and work area.
  • Ensure the area meets visual audit standards.
  • Equipment maintenance (such as repair of disc ribbons) and equipment cleaning.
  • Replace batteries for the Stoklin trucks and report any issues.
Production Lines - Inclusive of stackers/strappers (Operational support)

  • Ensure relevant prerun checks are carried out and any faults or defects are reported via appropriate reporting systems to Team Leaders.
  • Ensure that machines are loaded and replenished with sufficient supplies of consumable material and required stock levels i.e. Inserts, Under wrap, strap.
  • Keep the area and machines clean and tidy and dispose of waste in the correct manner.
  • Clearing jams, and blockages, fixing minor machine faults (as trained) quickly and efficiently to minimise disruption to production within the health and safety guidelines.
  • Accurately and legibly complete all relevant documentation associated with all relevant tasks.
  • Liaising and communicating with team members in the Vanway, Insert coordination and other members of staff.
  • Monitoring product presentation and quality checks throughout the production run.
  • To assist in the manual movement of products in the event of equipment failure.
  • To give appropriate assistance to the Team Leaders and Line Operators as and when required or instructed.
  • To prevent a substandard copy from impacting the production run and Loading Bay operations, containing all contamination and defect risks.
  • Ensure full cooperation and productivity between areas.
  • Ensure established safe systems of work are adhered to, and comply to all Health & Safety policies.
  • Effectively work within a team to sustain and improve team cohesion and productivity.
Palletiser & Octopus

  • Ensure relevant prerun checks are carried out and any faults or defects are reported via appropriate reporting systems to Team Leaders.
  • To ensure effective palletiser start up's for all editions.
  • Complete bundle size checks and all associated quality checks to meet customer specifications and requirements.
