We are offering full-time positions within our Business Support Services, which forms part of the wider Children and Family Services Department; our roles are varied, but at the heart of each one is the desire to make Leicestershire the best place for all children, young people, and their families.


Various teams across the CFS structure require our help, whether that be answering calls and taking messages, assisting our Fostering and Adoption teams, or typing up critical information that may be needed at court.

Although you won't be dealing with children directly, the teams you support will be planning and delivering the best services that improves outcomes for Leicestershire's children.

JOB PURPOSE:


  • To provide efficient and effective clerical, typing and database support to Children and Family Services. To be a valuable point of contact for members of the public, staff, elected members and partnership agencies
  • It is vital to the future of the department that the post holder is flexible in taking on additional tasks, willing to offer help to employees and treats cooperation and support for colleagues as a top priority

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
  • Word processing (or equivalent)
  • Experience of recent clerical, typing and database experience in an office environment
  • Working as part of a team
  • Production of wordprocessed reports and correspondence
  • Experience of filing and record systems
  • Full understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Evidence of numeracy, literacy and statistical analysis skills
  • Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Access
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • To produce accurate work to deadlines
  • Commitment to the provision of high quality clerical support
  • Interest in learning new skills
