We have an exciting opportunity within RAA (Adoption) - part of our Business Support Service for a self-motivated Business Support Officer providing essential support to our practice staff members.

The Service is currently in a period of redesign given a changing environment, ways of working and to better support the achievement of better outcomes for children and families.

Your tasks will include oversight of quality, monitoring and analysis of KPIs.

You will also monitor, co-ordinate and supervise the work of a small team of Business Support Assistants maintaining oversight and monitoring of processes ensuring consistency and maintaining staffing rotas.


You will also have responsibility for adoption finance work, and will be supporting the Business Support Assistants with finance queries and being an escalation point for this.

There may also be a requirement for you to support panel with attending and taking minutes.

You will receive training and support in all areas.


You will play an important role in the effective day to day running of the service we are looking for people who are well organised; have good attention to detail and who can work to and meet tight deadlines; you must be able to work effectively within a team environment, be customer and child focused and be able to deliver the role with a flexible approach.


The role will be based at 1 Avenue, Aston - our new North HUB but you will also be required to attend Lifford House, Stirchley for meetings and any cover required.

We operate a hybrid model of remote working. Currently, attendance is 2 days in office as a minimum.

  • Minute taking (desirable)
  • Microsoft programmes: Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Good soft skills: active listening, working with key stakeholders of all levels
  • The ability to independently interpret and analyse information and facts to solve varied problems
  • The ability to manage a process, ensuring accurate and timely outputs
  • Able to resolve internal/external issues and provide a solution focused response
