Key responsibilities/duties:
- Ensure that optimal standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen, and that standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies are met
- To conform to the Care Home's Food Hygiene procedures
- Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and to log any defects with the manager
- To prepare wellbalanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, cultural and dietary needs as required by the residents and staff of the Home
- To liaise with residents in planning menus that reflect choice and preferences and to ensure all stock ordered is consistent with said menus and choices.
- To cooperate with the Home Manager by maintaining the catering budget and to ensure catering services are provided to the appropriate standards to residents
- To maintain and check First Aid equipment within the Kitchen and maintain an accurate stock control
- Carry out good food management, temperature controls and HACCP documentation according to current Food Hygiene regulations
- Competitive salary: £11.50/hr
Salary:
From £12.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- London, UB1 2AY: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Cooks: 2 years (required)
