Role - National Business Development Manager

Sector - Commercial Catering Equipment

Salary - £55,000 - £60,000 + Bonus, Commission OTE £10,000

Region - National

Reference - CMT/86223


As part of the National Key Accounts team this role will be to identify new business opportunities within group and chain businesses as well as large single sites in the Hospitality, Leisure and Public sectors.


My client is a large and successful company who distribute a range of catering supplies and equipment to the foodservice sector.

With an established name in the industry, although this is a new business role customers will be familiar with the business andproducts.


The Role:


  • Research and identify new business opportunities including growth areas, trends, customers and partnerships
  • Seek out the best contact within companies to be able to have the most effective conversation
  • Facilitate the best possible negotiation with potential new businesses
  • Generate new leads and build relationships with prospective customers
  • Understand the need of new customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Win and onboard new customers within the first 3 months of them trading
  • Work closely with the existing sales team to support and identify the best opportunities and ensure a smooth handover when customers are fully onboarded
  • Meet sales and margin targets, active customers targets, contract targets, bad debt targets and governance, plus other KPI's.

What you will need to have:

  • Experience of identifying new business opportunities
  • Experience in driving revenue and improving profitability
  • Familiar with or have experience in the Catering equipment or Foodservice industry
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • Excellent organization and planning skills to enable clear identification of opportunities
  • Able to communicate and build relationships across internal departments
  • Excellent presentation skills, both to internal and external audiences
  • Able to embrace company values, objectives, and ethos
  • Sufficient Microsoft office capability
