Description

As the Widening Dispersal/Procurement officer, you will be responsible for researching new accommodation areas, developing and establishing internal/external support services which will help secure new properties in new widening dispersal areas.


You will achieve this by building strong and effective working relationships with internal and wider local stakeholders to ensure the appropriate support is available at the commencement of Service Users moving into an area.


This role involves working from home and travel within the mentioned regions, but could also include trips to our Head Office and working with colleagues in other areas.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

New Area Development

  • Attend SE/SE/EofE contract calls to give updates on progress and discuss any barriers with colleagues/contractors and the Home office.
  • Conduct initial market research to identify suitable and appropriate new accommodation areas
  • Research local area support and suitability for our residents prior to the screening process and complete documentation following the property procurement guidelines.
  • Work with (inform) the Property procurement team who will then assist with any cold calling activities and visits to identified areas are explored to procure new properties
  • Agree the 'go live' process for the property with the Property Procurement team to ensure that the deadlines are met by the Landlord/Lettings Agent
  • Make contact and arrange to meet with Local Non-Government Organisations to establish and maintain relationships
  • Establish links with local churches and identify links
  • Develop monitor and maintain a support services data base
  • Liaise with all departments linking into putting on a successful new area/property and follow through to completion.

Managing the Service User Experience

  • During the initial phase (when a new dispersal area goes live) you will monitor and maintain any relationships with Local organisations/ staff and offer support where possible.
  • Create local area information document and map specific to all new areas prior to dispersal which will be included in the induction booklet
  • Make all Housing officers aware of local support agencies, health services and schools if necessary.
  • Continue to support new arrivals on a temporary basis (4 week wrap around service).

Team working

  • Liaise regularly with line manager, Property Procurement team and wider team members
  • Helping/providing cover for other team members as required
  • Attending team and other staff meetings / and or training
  • Supporting new team members and provide onthejob training
  • 24hour availability during any significant emergency

Communication and Liaison

  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept uptodate according to company policies and procedures
  • Liaise closely with Partners, line manager, team members and other colleagues
  • Assist in the local stakeholder involvement process by attending meetings as required
  • Liaise with local support agencies to ensure relationships are maintained

Training and development

  • Monitor own work levels, progress and development
  • Undertake all core training and development programmes as required
  • Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan

Meeting key performance targets

  • Work toward own and team performance objectives
  • Learn, understand and operate within contractual guidelines and service requirements

TEAM WORKING

  • Liaise regularly with line manager and team members
  • Helping/providing cover for other team members as required
  • Attending team and other staff meetings
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

  • Monitor own work levels, progress and development
