RAC have an exciting new opportunity for aTax Assistant reporting to the Group Indirect Tax Manager.
Based in our
Bescot office, working
hybrid hours the purpose of the role is to prepare indirect tax filings in the UK and Ireland.
With extensive experience working with Excel, you will be required to analyse large volumes of data withthe ability to spot trends and issues.
This role is vital to helping to ensure continuous process improvement and systems enhancement, feeding back to other teams where necessary.
You will be able to show a high attention to detail whilst working in a fast-paced team running checks, pulling invoices, and working to ensure the accounting system is correctly capturing tax information.
This is full time, or part time hours will be considered for this role and is open to discussion.
What will you do?
- Prepare quarterly UK VAT and IPT returns, and Irish IGL returns, and bimonthly Irish VAT returns for review
- Prepare the PSA for review once per year
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for all of the RAC's group's indirect taxes
- Analyse data to support investigation of indirect tax related matters, including the impact of new legislation, business change and quantifying potential claims
- Support the indirect tax manager in forecasting VAT and IPT, process improvement and systems enhancements, undertaking testing of relevant controls for SAO and CCO purposes and on any HMRC enquiries or audits
Qualifications
Qualifications:
AAT/ATT qualification or studying towards a tax or accounting qualification would be an advantage
