WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is for a time served toolmaker to work in the ME Manufacturing facility in Castle Bromwich.

You will work as part of a highly skilled team in the manufacture of tooling, Jig and fixture to support all Jaguar Land Rover manufacturing facilities in the UK.


The role will require a high degree of skill and flexibility to work to tight deadlines as well as maintaining the highest quality standard.


The working environment means that no two days will be the same, working in a wide range of different areas of the business.

Development in other areas is encouraged for anybody who wishes to advance their skill level and develop their knowledge.

The manufacturing team is supported by a team of engineers including offline CAD and design functions.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • General toolroom Fitting, Welding, and fabrication of required parts.
  • Planning your own manufacturing methods/operations and workflow to ensure the finished part is to specification.
  • Inspection of own work to ensure it is quality compliant.
  • Delivery of right 1st time
  • On time delivery to plan
  • Problem solving manufacturing issues.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:


  • Must be time served with an indentured apprenticeship in the relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Toolroom, jigs, and fixtures, Maintenance
  • Must be Conversant with all aspects of toolmaking, milling, turning, grinding, and welding using Mig, TiG, Stick, and general fitting.
  • Must be able to plan their own manufacturing methods/operations and workflow to ensure the finished part is to specification.
  • Must be able to use all aspects of manual measurement equipment to inspect their own work to ensure compliance with drawing tolerances.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and interpret the manufacturing required,
  • Must be able to work within a team and individually.
  • Should have basic problemsolving skills to help identify issues.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be willing to work a 3shift pattern if required.

Desirable:


  • Working knowledge of CNC milling and turning
  • Knowledge of CAD CAM offline CNC programming
  • Previous experience in a toolroom environment
