Description
Settle Stories is looking for a versatile team member to help ensure the smooth runnings of the charity's operations.

You will play a critical role in supporting the organisation and enabling our frontline work with schools, communities, audiences and artists.

You will be the first point of contact for the organisation. You will work alongside the CEO and other members of the team, but will be expected to work independently. You will need to have a positive and flexible approach to working in a small charity.

Job Location:
The Joinery, Settle 3 days a week. Some weekend and evening work will be required. £24,000 pro rata. Start date TBA


Job description

Key tasks
Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety in our operations
  • To be the First Aid & Health and Safety rep
  • Maintain the asset list and inventories for The Joinery and store (training provided)
  • Maintain the Risk Register (training provided)
Event and Venue Management

  • Support the management of logistics for in person and digital events
  • Assist with organising team days and staff gatherings
  • Prepare the Joinery for all events, including Box Office lists
  • Maintain the Listening Gallery (training provided)
  • Update project plans as required
General administration

  • Provide administrative support for the CEO
  • Maintain all databases
  • Take minutes at relevant meetings including Board Meetings and Away Days
  • Manage data collection for evaluation and monitoring
  • Distribution of posters and leaflets for events
  • Maintain press and marketing archives
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors to fulfil orders or service requests
  • Collate all data for evaluations on a weekly basis
  • Order stock for the bookshop and maintain all records (training provided)
Additional tasks

  • Support wider operational activities as required and appropriate
  • To undertake such tasks as requested by the CEO and the senior management team
  • To attend meetings as required, and represent the work of Settle Stories with integrity
  • Any other duties as required

Person specification
Essential

  • Highly organised, methodical and consistent, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent IT and/or digital skills
  • The ability to work with others as well as use your own initiative
  • Strong problemsolving capabilities
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and multitask
  • Comply with Settle Stories's policies including but not limited to Safeguarding, H&S, Data Protection and Confidentiality
  • To have a First Aid at work certificate or be prepared to undertake training
Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
  • Experience of working in a small charity or Arts Organisation
  • An interest in the arts and storytelling
  • Experience in a similar administrative or project management
  • Full Clean Driving License & have access to a car

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week


Salary:
£24,000.00 per year
