ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST - MKD ENABLING SERVICES LTD
Wirral/North Wales
MKD Enabling Services is a private specialist clinical practice, comprising of BPS and HCPC Registered Psychologists providing excellent quality mental health services and assisting people to make positive changes to their lives.
You will be supported to develop your skills in a wide range of different areas including assessment, intervention, training, staff consultation and formulation.
Applicants will gain the advantage of developing their skills as an Assistant Psychologist with clients across the life span (children, young people, and adults), as the successful applicant will provide support within both Child and Adult Mental Health services.
One unit is based in Holywell, North Wales. This is a specialist service for adult males with a diagnosis of learning disability and co-existing mental health needs. Another unit is based in Wrexham, North Wales. This is a residential service for children and young people aged 11 to 18 (mixed gender).
Fees:
Negotiable and based on experience.
Contract:
Self-employed associate agreement or fixed term 12-month contract.
ASSISTANT PSYCHOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributing to psychological assessments and developing psychological formulations.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans for individual cases.
- Facilitating psychological interventions to clients with moderate to severe mental health problems, using appropriate and relevant psychological treatment models.
- Designing and delivering training to other professionals.
- Assisting with the delivery of reflective practice sessions or team formulations with staff.
- Maintaining accurate and uptodate records in the form of case notes, case files and clinical reports.
- Conducting service evaluation, audit and other research tasks including collecting, analysing, and reporting.
- Respecting clients' confidentiality and be responsible for security and accuracy of assigned records, data, and information.
- Consulting and working closely with registered managers, staff, carers, and other professionals within the organisation, providing specialist psychological guidance around all aspects of service users' care and support needs.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES
- At a minimum, applicants
must have an upper secondclass honours (2:1) degree in Psychology conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Further post graduate training in Psychology/Mental Health would be desirable (e.g., MSc). - Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist is essential.
- Previous experience of working within Children or/and Adult Mental Health or forensic settings is desirable.
- Must be computer literate and have some experience undertaking administrative tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to form effective working relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- An understanding of the difficulties faced by children, young people and adults with mental health problems.
- Ability to accept and use clinical supervision appropriately and effectively.
