Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis (for rapid insights), in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieveshort to ultra-long read lengths.

We are looking for a talented and curious individual to join our growing UX Team.

The Details...


We're looking for a mid-level designer who can contribute to all parts of the design process from user research to visual and interaction design.

You don't need to have a background in science, but do need a curious attitude, with a willingness to ask questions.


You'll work closely with product managers and software developers, to identify user needs and translate those into intuitive workflows and interfaces in our software.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the Product Management, Development and UX Design teams to define and clarify user requirements and use cases.
  • Create, iterate on, and deliver UX design concepts, prototypes, as well as UI specifications and assets for use in all stages of the product development process.
  • Work within, and contribute to the Oxford Nanopore Design System.
What we're looking for...

You'll have 3-5 years experience in UX design at a software company, ideally including the use of a Design system.

Familiarity designing for expert or data intensive software tools is a bonus.

  • Have a good understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • Be experienced in the use of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Marvel etc.
  • Good understanding of visual design fundamentals
  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a variety of teams and users, both internal and external.
  • A curious attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • An interest in designing for complex scientific products
  • Possess accurate attention to the small details.
