Description
Introduction:
Our client is a large engineering consultancy working with a diverse range of customers across the Nuclear Power, Defence, Airports and Rail sectors. They are looking for an Electrical & Controls Engineer to work end-to-end on control systems solutions that meet safety requirements for their clients.
You will need experience working across the lifecycle for EC&I safety systems, including design and testing, and experience with systems such as PLC, HMIs, and SCADA.
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site with clients/in a local office per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Creating costeffective engineering design solutions.
- Ensuring highquality delivery that meets customer requirements to time, budget, and quality expectations.
- Working endtoend on EC&I systems, including safety, design, testing and installation.
- Engaging with clients to understand technical needs.
- Verifying EC&I technical documentation, including for junior engineers.
- Assisting with technical input for proposals/tenders.
Skills & experience:
- Experience working on a broad range of electrical control systems within a safety critical industry such as Nuclear, Defence, Airports or similar.
- Knowledge of electrical control equipment and how it's used in automated and safety related systems.
- Good knowledge of process systems and how to control them.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and safety sector standards such as BS EN 61508 or BS EN 6151
- A good understanding of the safety lifecycle for EC&I safety systems.
- PLC or SCADA programming experience.
- Skilled in designing and ensuring safety of softwarebased systems.
- Recognised as a chartered engineer or equivalent.
