Building Control Surveyor:


  • The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Control Surveyor to join our team.


You will liaise with applicants, agents, consultants and members of the public, look after demolitions and dangerous structures, including out of hours site inspections, and test building works for compliance.

You will also deal with relaxation and dispensation attend committees and working groups,


We are currently in the process of developing a comprehensive, efficient and effective Building Control Service that operates differently to traditional local government Building Control services.

The Service will be encouraged to increase income and openup new markets.


Building Control Surveyor:


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out agreed procedures to provide effective and efficient building control services
  • Examination of plans and other associated matters for compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Liaise with applicants, agents, consultants or statutory bodies and members of the public.
  • Deal with demolitions and dangerous structures including out of hours inspections.
  • Carry out site inspections and testing of building works for compliance with building regulations and associated legislations.
  • Carry out all normal measures and as directed, any further action to ensure enforcement of building regulations and associated legislation
  • Promote and market the Building Control Service at a local level
  • Attend any committees or working groups of the Council as may be required

Building Control Surveyor - You:


  • We are looking for an individual with proven experience of providing an effective and efficient Building Control operation
  • A good working knowledge and experience of building and construction is essential, as is an informed understanding and awareness of current relevant regulations and legislation
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to prioritise your own workload, you will be highly organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
