At Sharob Care our caring, compassionate colleagues work tirelessly to provide the highest level of care to our residents across three homes in Cornwall.

We have facilities in Bude, Bodmin, Liskeard and St Austell, employing over 160 people.


We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and enthusiastic Team Leader / Senior Carer with great leadership skills to join us and support and engage our diverse team.


About You


You will have the skills and experience to provide the highest levels of personal care to our residents, medication administration, planning, organising, and ensuring that care services are provided in line with service agreements and care plans to deliver the highest standards of care in line with CQC regulations.


You will be kind, caring and compassionate with a warm and friendly demeanour and have the confidence to communicate with colleagues at all levels and create strong links within the wider group and local community.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


Support the registered manager to:
- ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the home on behalf of Sharob Care and to meet all legal requirements.
- maintain a safe environment for service users and staff and respond to health and safety requirements.


Responsibilities include:

- make all necessary arrangements for starting a service
- supervise care workers and teams in carrying out their work, proving advice and guidance as needed, including demonstrating procedures, coaching and mentoring
- be available to care workers seeking advice and guidance on issues arising
- provide direct care as and when required
- support service users with medication administration
- carry out spot checks of care delivery and report findings to the registered manager as appropriate
- liaise with service users to get their views on the service being provided and to act on any issues arising
- assist with staff induction and training as required, and in the cases of new staff, assess their fitness to work alone
- liaise with other professionals involved in a person's care
- work closely with the wider management team to help it with their quality improvement and business planning strategies
- act as an ambassador for the care service, particularly in its dealings with other professionals and agencies involved in a person's care
- work as a team member and be prepared to be flexible in helping to meet the home's requirements.

  • Knowledge & Experience of Nourish Digital Care Planning Software preferred (training will be provided)

  • Ability to delegate effectively and prioritize your workload

  • Good written and face to face communication skills.
  • Commitment to honesty and transparency

Essential Criteria

  • Level
  • Leadership and Management in health and Social Care (or equivalent), or working towards the qualification.
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Up to date knowledge and experience of safeguarding, DOLS, MCA guidance & procedures

Hours:

hours per week

  • Alternate weekends off
