Quality Engineer

Swindon

£30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum
Our client is recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their growing team


Quality Engineer roles and responsibilities:


  • Assist in maintaining company approvals
  • Testing processes, create documentation, monitor quality standards and define the criteria a test result should meet in alignment with customer requirements
  • Working with internal teams to improve the quality of products for enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Implementation of policies, including its QMS requirements relevant to the scope of work
  • Interface with production/Inspection teams foreffective corrective action on nonconformities or complaints (supplier and customer)
  • Assisting/cooperating in all management system audits (internal, supplier or customer)
  • Manage corrective actions from audits
  • Provide monitoring and measurement analysis, relating to the QMS and products
  • Identifying/encouraging the raising of opportunities for improvement (e.g. operators, training)
  • To report to the Head of Operations any concerns, changes, help needed, as required to meet QMS requirements
  • To monitor and report on external providers' performance
  • Management of inspection team
  • Assist in the requirements set out by the customer (certifications and standards)
  • Training requirements (IPC 910 and IPC 920)
  • Maintain documented information
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • RoHS & REACH requirements
  • Encourage good housekeeping and ensure safe working conditions
  • Drive Zero Defect Culture using standard Tools & Processes

The idealQuality Engineerwill be:


  • Ability to take the initiative and make sound judgments in work methods and interpreting goals
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with infrequent supervision and reviewing
  • High attention to details to ensure proper manufacturing of products
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and problemsolving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable preventive action plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate updated/new processes clearly and document critical aspects of the job
  • Sincere work ethic for adhering to standards and managing potential harmful effects on timelines and budget, and the ability to operate under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamplayer skills
  • Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Certified Quality Engineer (desirable)
  • Experience of at least 2 years in a similar role
  • Experience of working within manufacturing and a Quality Engineering function
  • Knowledge of FAI, inspection methods/equipment and the 8D problem solving methodology
