As part of our drive to achieve our vision, we are seeking to recruit Welfare Support Officers to provide support and assistance to families settling in the UK.

The main purpose of the Welfare Support Officer role is to be a point of contact for families, ensuring the delivery of key support services, to contribute to their welfare and overall wellbeing.


Key Duties:

The main duties of the Welfare Support Officer will include, but not be limited to:


  • Engagement
  • Establishing themselves as a familiar and accessible figure to service users.
  • Maintaining boundaries and being resilient to ensure a professional and welldefined support service is delivered.

Safeguarding

  • Identifying any safeguarding and welfare issues and raising them with the appropriate stakeholder.
  • Recording and reporting on all safeguarding and welfare concerns and the associated actions taken.
  • Conducting and maintaining risk assessments.
  • Promoting a seamless partnership between stakeholders.

Support

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of service users.
  • Providing practical and emotional support to service users.
  • Monitoring service users' wellbeing and support needs.
  • Calmly and efficiently deal with daytodays issues and events as they arise.

Signposting

  • Identifying and recognising individual and family needs.
  • Directing service users to practical solutions, and signposting sources of support as appropriate.
  • Developing support packages to encourage service user independence.

Recordkeeping

  • Maintaining accurate, confidential, and uptodate service user records.
  • Ensuring risks assessments and other necessary documentation is managed and maintained.
  • Contributing documentation to support audit requests.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Experience of working with vulnerable and diverse client groups is essential.
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding is essential.
  • Experience working with mental health and or challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Experience with record keeping and creating risk assessments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, local authorities, and service users.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Resilient and able to stay focused, productive and motivated.
  • Problem solving abilities with the drive to seek out solutions.
  • Supportive, trustworthy, good listening skills, approachable and empathetic to others.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Pay:
Up to £28,350.00 per year
