Description

We are hiring for a world class manufacturing company based in Littlehampton West Sussex, they produce a wide range of devices and components and are now looking to expand the Setter team with an additional engineer to support the nigh shift.

This team workMonday to Thursday 9pm -9am - this is a 46hr week BUT the initial training and induction would be on DAYS which for a period of around 2 weeks would be 8am - 6pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1:30pm on Friday.

You will work alongside out current Day shiftproduction team to learn the machines, processes, and products then transition to join the Night shift team.

We expect this transition to take approximately 2 weeks to a month depending on experience.

This role has arisen due to an increase in business.


Job Description:

Start-up, shutdown, raw material batch changes, colour changes, tool changes, and ancillary equipment setup.
The moulding machines are housed within a class 8 cleanroom.
Machines range from Tonnes.
Machines are Boy, Engel, and Fanuc.


Key Responsibilities:
Installing mould tooling and setting the machines to approved validated settings.
Support the production and tooling team to ensure tooling and ancillary equipment runs optimally.

Work with the MouldShop / Production Manager to identify and implement strategic improvements to reduce scrap, increase output and if appropriate to add automation processes.

Process and document mould trials and assist the quality team with validation of new tooling.
Planned maintenance duties for moulds and ancillaries, as well as liaise with machine maintenance contractors when required.
Monitoring of the moulded parts to ensure product quality is met during normal production.

Supporting engineering in the installation and validation of new equipment and technology and ensure a smooth and acceptable transfer to production.


Required Skills and Experience:
Relevant industry experience, ideally with apprenticeship served / accredited training certification.
Be familiar with modern Fanuc, Engel and Boy machine and Fanuc robot control systems.
Be familiar with processing a range of polymers (ABS, PC, PE, PVC, HDPE).
Understanding of injection mould tooling, ideally with previous experience of insert changes.
To be proactive in continuous improvements within the MouldShop.
You will have a positive attitude towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You will be flexible and a team player.
Be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
