Our Role


This is a well-established area based in our Tunbridge Wells office and a role that has evolved during the last 2 years as we define the tasks we undertake which are relevant and add value to the business in line with audit requirements.

Further developmentand enhancement is essential, with the team questioning and asking 'why' we do each task, to enable us to scale up the business.

Additionally automation in some areas will be required to assist growth.


The team have taken on control features from within the department and this is an area which will be developed further during the year.


The team act as a second line of defence to our Settlements & Cash/Custody teams within the overall Operations department, carrying out daily checks and reconciliations for the provision and maintenance of good administrative order as well as the preventionof CASS breaches and exceptions.


There are many opportunities to be involved in short and long term projects within the department and business to help us streamline processes and aid growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct all CASS related stock and cash reconciliations in accordance with FCA CASS regulations and internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) including monthly CMAR reporting.
  • Daily exception management, ensuring any discrepancies are
- clearly documented and evidenced for audit purposes
- tracked and resolved in a timely manner in line with SLA (same day where possible)
- evidenced to resolution (updated if not cleared same day)

  • Monthly reconciliations for external holdings / custodians
  • Problem solving skills / initiative to identify and evidence discrepancies in reconciliations.
  • Perform intraday control checks.
  • Control and coordination of procedural updates ensure up to date at all times
  • Flexible approach to tasks undertaken, which are rotated within the team to ensure full coverage of tasks during holiday and absentee periods.
  • Independent 4 eye check of key reconciliations as required, to reduce errors, ensure consistency and good administrative order.
  • Control function tasks weekly monthly and quarterly monitoring data held within our systems is correct, regular production of reports and monthly management information as required.
  • User access administration for external providers relevant to Operations Department creation / amend / deletion of users.
  • Maintenance of external Mandates and Trust Administration Letters.
  • Maintenance and creation of formal procedures for the tasks undertaken, which must be reviewed at least annually
  • Develop knowledge and competence in other areas of the department to understand the end to end process, how it all fits together and with a view of potentially providing cover and support as and when required in line with 'one department' ethos.
  • Enhance understanding of the endtoend processes to help refine and streamline our tasks which will allow scalability.

Experience

  • Experience is not required as full training will be provided. However, an interest in a career within financial services is essential.
