During this fixed term contract, you'll deliver a Rapid response and environmental POPS service to premises owned by mhs, with responsibility for providing high levels of customer service for internal and external communal areas,


Youll work closely with Assistant Delivery Managers to help a team of front-line staff to deliver excellent waste control and customer service.


Key tasks include:


  • Ensure all bulky items are collected and handled under the POPS (Persistent organic pollutants) and general waste regulations.
  • Report new/outstanding repairs through Total Mobile handheld device (smart Phone).
  • Ensure that chutes, hoppers, refuse chambers etc are clean and free of blockage and that paladins are regularly rotated.
  • Place paladins/chamberlain refuse bins in the appropriate position for emptying by the Councils Contractor. Return bin to room after emptying.
  • Immediately remove to the appointed storage area(s) items of bulky refuse and ensure regular collection of these items, as per Total Mobile handheld device
  • Carry out any other minor repairs/duties as required.
  • Clearing of drains, gullies etc. to grill and clear blockages.
  • Report any noncompliance of the conditions of tenancy to prevent nuisances, acts.
  • Attend and keep clean garage areas as per Team Mobile instructions.
  • Remove graffiti as necessary or paint over with matching paint and report if unable.
  • Remove any needles, clinical waste found on site or notified by tenants / mhs.
  • Attendance at emergency situations as required and make safe.
  • Salting or snow clearance of pathways in as per the snow policy
  • Support Grounds/Caretaking Team where applicable
  • Support Empty Homes clearance Team where applicable on house/Garden clearances.
  • Support Empty Homes in installation of security shutters to vacant properties.
  • Such other duties as are from time to time determined by the Estates Planning Team

About you:


  • You'll have great customer liaison skills.
  • Be experienced in caretaking, cleaning, and grounds work.
  • Have a good understanding of health, safety, and security within the job role.
  • Be able to plan, organise and prioritise your work effectively and efficiently, using Total Mobile
  • Experienced in problemsolving and dealing with challenging situations.
  • Able to work with subcontractors when required
  • You'll hold a full driving licence
