Our client is looking to expand our Warehouse team with a Trainee Warehouse & Logistics Lead.

For the right person with drive, this is a new role with so much opportunity to develop within the company.


To have the commitment and motivation whilst developing to lead the remit of the Warehouse and logistics function effectively, driving excellence and always considering continuous improvement, whilst collaborating with all levels.

Reporting to the Assistant Warehouse Manager and Warehouse & Logistics Manager.


They are looking for somebody with Warehouse, Logistics or staff leading experience who wants to develop a strong background in Warehouse and Logistics Management having an opportunity to study at college one day per week on a relevant Warehouse apprenticeship.


  • Train to be able to forecast from order lines and predicted growth and allocate and manage warehouse and production staff resources according to the changing needs of the company including resources available to events.
  • Train to understand and work with relevant departments to analyse logístical problems and produce new solutions liaising with suppliers.
  • Understand the responsibility of the administration required with the warehouses and be involved as changes occur.
  • Continually work with mentors to improve and develop business performance, within constraints of legislation and environmental pressures.
  • Working with our internal Health and Safety Officer to, implement health & safety, hygiene and security procedures to ensure company compliance and staff safety.
  • Work alongside Warehouse Assistant Manager and Warehouse & Logistics Manager to improve and refine the company's delivery strategy. Monitor the needs of the company's 3 customer supply channels, Production Meetings, 121's and Appraisals.
  • Working with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the stock control in a timely manner on shelves and Merlin, goods in and production, storage layout and movements within all warehouses, ensuring maximum efficient space utilisation.
  • Manage and oversee regular thirdparty servicing of the power and energy efficiency of all warehouses, considering the multi fuels systems (air source and oil) that are in operation together with costings and frequency of fuel deliveries and when to turn heating sources/ machinery off.
  • Learn to liaise and negotiate with all warehouse and logístical related providers and suppliers (e.g. Electromechanical, racking, forklift, and associated equipment) ensuring the most efficient and costeffective solutions are in place.
  • Proficient and ability to train & motivate staff to carry out job roles and working to Safe Ways of Working manual.
  • Know how to create national & international shipment bookings.
  • To ensure that all information is entered accurately, paperwork is completed correctly, and checking is carried out.
  • Ensure and assist in the general cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse at the end of every working day in line with Safe Ways of working.
  • To know of and understand how to do all aspects of work associated with your job role.
  • Understand and support all stock checks including annual and rolling.
  • Working within a customerfocused business, learn develop and understand the requirements of our customer facing sales team.
  • Working within an exporting company, learn and understand the dynamics of combining production and shipping timelines to ensure our global customers' expectations are understood.

With this being a trainee role, we are offering a mentor for this role from within the Senior Staff and Directors.

Full-time contract studying for a Level 3 apprenticeship in Warehouse & Logistics

A full, clean driving licence and own transport is an advantage due to the location of the offices.


Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm 1 hour for lunch.
