Description
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a 12-month Research Associate position on a project focusing on the measurement of social and cultural infrastructure.

This project, funded by the British Academy, sits across a number of the Bennett Institute's main research themes.

It will contribute towards a major element of the British Academy's Valuing People, Places and Spaces programme, which forms part of the Academy's public policy work on social and cultural infrastructure.

The project scope is set out in the British Academy's original Invitation to Tender.

This post will be located in the Bennett Institute for Public Policy, a major, University-wide initiative housed in the Department of Politics and International Studies and supported by the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences.

It is led by its inaugural Director Professor Michael Kenny and Professor Dame Diane Coyle, the Bennett Professor of Public Policy.

The Research Associate will lead the work of the project team, examining the concepts of social and cultural infrastructure, exploring various issues relating to the measurement and definition of social and cultural infrastructure, considering what these ideas mean for public policy, and how policymakers and others could use and operationalise the measurement of social and cultural infrastructure.

They will deliver both academic outputs and policy-relevant outputs and engagement, working closely with the project team, and alongside other Bennett Institute staff and researchers, as well as colleagues from the British Academy.
