Are you an enthusiastic dietitian with a genuine interest in providing patient centred maternal diabetes care and diabetes advice for the population in Nottingham? Do you have a passion for teaching and developing the skills of the wider team to care for pregnant women with diabetes?

We have an exciting opportunity for a dietitian to enhance their skills and knowledge in diabetes and pregnancy for 12 months.

You will join our expanding multi-professional team to design, deliver and provide an excellent pathway of care to women with gestational diabetes at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

The diabetes specialist dietitians are valued members of the multidisciplinary team and provide a high-quality service to people with diabetes.

You will join our friendly team of dietitians working in diabetes and weight management and be supported by our band 7 clinical leads.

Knowledge of diabetes and of pregnancy is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and vision to improve the service for your patients.

You must be able to manage your own time and workload within a supportive team. We would expect you to be enthusiastic, motivated and supportive of the wider dietetic team.

Working for our organisation

We are a large and friendly department of around 100 staff including assistants and technicians providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond.

The Service has excellent IT facilities. The Trust is committed to providing excellent nutritional care, led by its Nutrition and Hydration Steering committee. We have close links with the University of Nottingham, and take student dietitians for A, B and C placements.

Nottingham is a friendly city with excellent leisure facilities, shops and beautiful countryside within easy reach. It has first rate transport links with its close proximity to East Midlands Airport and train services.
