The Linen Services within Gloucestershire Manged Services at Gloucester Royal are currently looking for Bank Linen Assistants to work within our busy and diverse department.


The hours are varied to ensure that adequate coverage within the Linen Services is met due to any absence that requires coverage.

Monday

  • Friday between the hours of 7am 1pm and 7.30am11.30am on a Saturday.


To ensure that linen supplier is compliant with GMS Linen provision on a daily basis by receiving, counting and documenting, the linen delivery, plus the return to sender linen receipts.


To assist in the distribution of linen required to meet the agreed daily linen allocation to all wards and departments within the GMS service provision.


Provide a curtain changing and maintenance service in accordance with the GMS curtain changing programme to all wards and departments.

To respond to requests for additional curtain change from our customers working in conjunction with our domestic colleagues at ward and department level.

Completion of spreadsheets for both
curtains and linen is required to ensure accurate records of both curtain charges and linen allocations are recorded.

This post has a significant amount of personal contact with patients, staff and visitors.

Reconcile the delivery against the delivery note; identify any shortages or issues for escalation to the supplier and linen supervisor to initiate contingency plans in cases of emergency.

Replenish the linen exchange trolley with the daily/weekly linen for all allocated areas ready for the next delivery. Record this allocation onto the spreadsheet.

Daily - check and replenish theatre scrub wear. Reject any linen deemed not 'fit for purpose' and record. Record the clean linen cages delivered, empty linen cages available, plus the amount of soiled /dirty linen cages.

Input the linen order on the supplier's "on-line portal" system, check to ensure the supplier has received the order.

Record KPI information in order to support the KPI deductions by the linen manager
In line with the GHT contract.

Assist with both adhoc and quarterly curtain change requests.


Clean the linen room on a daily basis and the linen exchange trolleys on weekly basis, as per the Trust's hygiene requirements.
