The opportunity

This role is vital within the business supporting the Group Financial Controller and wider finance team in all aspects of financial management including review of financial results, analysis and interpretation of financial performance, and oversight of thefinancial integrity of financial accounting across the company's entities.

There is one direct report into this position.

We are a small team and so the individual must have a flexible, "can do" attitude and a willingness to get involved to support both the team and the company.

They must be a highly motivated self-starter with significant and relevant financial, accounting,analytical experience, and someone who enjoys the challenges of working within an exciting and fast-growing organisation.

Above all they must be quality orientated and view finance within a business as a real partner adding value and insight.

DNA paymentsprocessing is expanding and evolving rapidly and we expect the responsibilities of this role to do so too.

What you'll be doing

Coaching, leading and developing 1 Junior Management Accountant
Production of monthly management accounts and reporting for subsidiary companies and group consolidation to very high standards and defined deadlines;
Ability to analyse accounts and understand the activity within the month for respective entities;
Ability to fully understand the numbers within the respective entities and advise on areas where costs can be controlled and communicate these to senior management;
Ability to account for and report on terminal inventory and other stock on a consistent basis to determine fully stock generating income and that held in multiple warehousing facilities;
Production and analysis of defined key performance indicators, variance and trend analysis;
Work with the Group Financial Controller to ensure key performance indicators remain appropriate, and produce same with appropriate commentary;
Provide support on the accounting for, and the integration of, future group acquisitions
Strengthen and continuously improve accounting processes and the control framework within the group;
Perform robust reconciliations to ensure all reported balances are accurate
Work with external auditors to provide required evidence and walkthroughs to ensure a smooth, clean audit
Provide support on change initiatives and other ad hoc tasks as required;

What you'll need to succeed

Qualified ACA/ACMA/ACCA;
Relevant experience in a similar role;
People management experience;
Excellent and up to date knowledge of UK GAAP
Ability to work under pressure and totight deadlines;
Excellent communication skills;
Advanced Excel skills;
Continuous improvement mindset;
Close attention to detail
Resilient to change and comfortable in ambiguous situations
