Key Duties
- To maintain records of cheque journals, invoices, receipts, petty cash and incoming/ outgoing monies.
- To complete reconciliations of bank statements for each account.
- Ensure all amounts of income including funding grants are recorded and correctly analysed.
- Assist in the preparation monthly statements and financial projections as requested by finance manager.
- Adhere to financial requirements as directed by funders.
- Assist with preparation of financial information for end of year accounts.
- Meet the monitoring requirements as and when required from funding bodies.
- Assist with procurement procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of PAYE and NIC returns to Inland Revenue.
- Assist the Finance Manager with Payroll
- Deal with written correspondence and telephone queries in an effective and efficient manner.
- Attend meetings as directed by line manager, and to participate in staff training and development both in house and external.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria
Experience / Educational Attainments:
- At least two years working experience in financial administration
- Working experience of Excel spreadsheets
- SAGE payroll qualification or at least 1 year's working knowledge of Sage payroll
- Working experience of cost centre management
- Working experience of financial monitoring for funders
- Experience of preparing financial projections
- Ability to work on own initiative
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of the work and ethos of Women's Centres
- Knowledge of procurement procedures
- Experience of working within a community development setting
