PermanentOVERVIEW**This is an exciting Operations Director opportunity, for an individual to be play a leading senior role in a newly formed joint venture between three businesses in the food manufacturing/food production industry.

We are looking for an Operations Director who will work closely with the Managing Director to develop the business in becoming an industry leader and in how it builds and manages the brand during its inception and in its long-term future.

  • Ability to develop people and identify and nurture future potential within their area of the business, to ensure a robust people plan
  • Can demonstrate they operate a values led business focussed on people and service to customers.
  • Always demonstrates strong independent thinking to act on behalf of their business and not be distracted by investor voices
  • Ability to deliver a safe working environment and lead a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses
  • Experience in food manufacturing/food production

Key responsibilities/deliverables:


  • TEAM DEVELOPMENT
  • Make sure the team are coached and developed to have the right range of skills, values and experience and retain key skills to meet the needs of the business
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees at the site and that as a minimum the site meets the standards set out in the H&S policy
  • OPERATIONS to ensure product is processed and distributed to the agreed quality and cost standards as a minimum
  • STRATEGY DEVELOPEMNT to develop an agreed written site operational strategy that is aligned to the overall business strategy; ensure this is converted in to clear plans that are understood and owned by the relevant teams
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT to create a liver Operations Improvement Plan that looks to improve margins and reduce costs; ensure this is converted into clear plans that are understood and owned by the relevant teams
  • CAPITAL PLANNING develop, agree and implement a rolling capital plan
  • FINANCIAL TARGETS contribute to business financial forecasting and deliver those targets that fall within the job holder's responsibility
