Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible housing finance service.

The Service currently has a full-time vacancy for a Senior Debt Enforcement Officer within the Housing Finance Team on a maternity cover basis.

About the job

The Senior Debt Enforcement Officer will be responsible for the effective recovery of debts including leasehold arrears, former tenant debt, housing benefit overpayments, recoverable repairs and other miscellaneous debts, visiting debtors in their own home, and taking all necessary legal action.

What We Are Looking For From You

Essential requirements include the ability to communicate well by phone, in person or on writing and being able to deal with difficult conversations with customers.

The Senior Debt Enforcement Officer will need to take ownership of tasks, demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, showing willingness to assist and commitments to meeting the objectives of the team.
