Tankered Waste Sampler position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Redruth

. Joining us on a full-time, Permanent basis. In return you will receive a competitive salary of

£22,690 - £29,688 per annum plus excellent benefits.


About the role
***As the Tankered Waste Operative you will ensure the tankered waste facility within our Sewage Treatment Site is operated in a manner that ensures SWWs legislative responsibilities are met, these include, but are not limited to, Health, Safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors, the compliance and processing of Waste Transfer Notes, Routine Sampling and Customer Recharging.


Other duties will include supporting the site team in delivery of reactive and planned works as part of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the wider Waste Water Treatment Works.


What you'll be doing:


  • Monitor commercial tankered waste import activities to ensure compliance with company policy, processes, and regulatory permits
  • Undertake checks, completion of and storage of Waste Transfer Notes
  • Reject loads that do not comply with regulated permit conditions and EWC codes, notify the tankered waste management team and complete required documentation
  • Undertake routine sampling, including the completion of documentations required for submission to Countess Wear Laboratory
  • Notify Site Manager or Pilot immediately should waste being discharged that contravenes the site permit
  • Undertake basic maintenance activities around the tankered waste area to ensure the area is always clean, tidy and safe
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Support site team to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the treatment process and whole site
  • Work in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe

What we are looking for:


  • Technical training in waste water treatment/engineering/operation advantageous similar considered
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have the ability to develop professional working relationships and liaise with people from all levels of hierarchy
  • The ability to identify and implement "best practice"
  • A flexible approach to workload and working hours
  • Prepared to travel throughout the region
  • Full UK Drivers Licence
