About the Role:


EMEA Treasury - Treasury Operations

Treasury is central to aiding the delivery of the overall LII strategy through paying our clients, brokers and suppliers in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.


About the Department & Team:

Finance in Liberty International Insurance (LII) consists of circa 100 FTE and has a number of key roles:

  • To partner the business to enhance decision making with a focus on strategy, planning, analysis and reporting. Support is provided both to the three management 'Pillars'
  • Specialty, Commercial and Reinsurance
  • and also to the supporting functions within LII
  • To ensure that all external financial reporting requirements (statutory, regulatory, tax, capital etc) are fulfilled. LII consists of a Lloyd's Syndicate, a UK insurance company with European branches, a number of small service companies and a portion of a US balance sheet
  • To report to our US Parent on standard monthly requirements and adhoc requests on both a pillar and a legal basis
  • To ensure superior management of our investments, cash and all financial risks
  • To give finance operations support to the business and finance

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all manual payments are processed accurately by checking the required supporting documentation, making sure the bank account verification call backs have been completed where required to the agreed SLA's and communicating any reasons for delays to the final beneficiary.
  • A good understanding of the EMEA legal entity structure and the regulatory rules associated to making payments across 300+ bank accounts.
  • Administer the Treasury payment log to support the payment flow process and Approval Rota for the wider finance organisation.
  • Uploading BACS/Thrupay/SEPA payment files across various banking platforms
  • Occasionally assisting the Cash & Funding manager with processing the daily intercompany transfers to make sure the cash is in the right account, in the right currency and at the right time.
  • Comanaging the dedicated Treasury mailbox with the view of delivering best in class customer service to our internal and external customers.
  • Completing assigned bank statement uploads to SAP within the specified timescales to support daily and month end processes.
  • Assisting the Treasury & Accounts Payable Manager audit queries
  • Cross training the wider Treasury operations team when required
