Technical Competencies:

Populate and maintain the companies material and plant cost databases and feedback cost increases to Estimating
Source and evaluate potential suppliers for a variety of interior fitout materials, furniture, and equipment.
Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers.
Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy.
Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
Identify and implement costsaving opportunities throughout the procurement process.
Stay uptodate with market trends and new product developments within the interior fitout industry.
May be required to undertake site visits to assess supplier capabilities.
Proficient in Word/Excel/Powerpoint
Experience with Chalkstring software would be advantageous but is not essential.

Person Specification

Relevant experience as a Buyer within a construction or related industry (e.g., interiors, facilities management, builders merchant).
Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Experience in using procurement software systems.
Experience in the construction or interior fitout industry (a plus).
A meticulous and detailoriented approach to work.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A valid UK driving licence (essential).
