Technical Competencies:


  • Populate and maintain the companies material and plant cost databases and feedback cost increases to Estimating
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers for a variety of interior fitout materials, furniture, and equipment.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy.
  • Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Identify and implement costsaving opportunities throughout the procurement process.
  • Stay uptodate with market trends and new product developments within the interior fitout industry.
  • May be required to undertake site visits to assess supplier capabilities.
  • Proficient in Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Experience with Chalkstring software would be advantageous but is not essential.

Person Specification

  • Relevant experience as a Buyer within a construction or related industry (e.g., interiors, facilities management, builders merchant).
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Experience in using procurement software systems.
  • Experience in the construction or interior fitout industry (a plus).
  • A meticulous and detailoriented approach to work.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving licence (essential).
