Portsmouth Hospital University Trust has a large Respiratory Service and both the Asthma and Cough departments continue to expand as a Tertiary Centre.

We are delighted to be in the position of being able to offer the right clinician a fantastic opportunity to join us and help develop these services further.

The successful applicant will work within the Portsmouth Severe Asthma Service (PSAS) which is a regional severe asthma center and is comprised of 4 consultants with a specialist interest in asthma, a lead asthma nurse, 3 specialist asthma nurses, 2 specialist respiratory physiotherapists, a dietician, a psychologist, a pharmacist, a severe asthma MDT co-ordinator and a dedicated asthma administrator.

The service provides support for over 3200 patients on biologic therapies for severe asthma. The team also boasts of an active research unit supported by the Wessex CRN and AHSN.

The Department has won multiple awards for research and quality improvement, and was selected by NICE as a model of adoption of exhaled NO in clinical practice.

The successful applicant would also assist the lead Cough Consultant in developing this service which is set to grow even more and faces some exciting developments.
