Job overview


We are seeking to appoint 1 full-time Locum Consultant Uroradiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals to ensure continuity of the service to support the local and regional demand for Urology imaging.


The successful applicants will share responsibility with 4 other colleagues for the provision of all aspects of Urology imaging in our Trust with possible future expansion to the Trusts within the regional network.

Main duties of the job

To provide, along with Consultant colleagues, a comprehensive elective and emergency on-call service related to Uroradiology.


The posts include sessions for reporting time for MRI and CT, performing ultrasound and undertaking fluoroscopy guided procedures and participation in multidisciplinary meetings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


The post will be primarily located at the City campus although the successful applicant will be required to provide sessions at the sites where we provide an Uroradiology service.


A successful applicant would be required to be part of a dedicated Diagnostic Body on call rota with a current frequency of 1:12.

Professional Registration

Essential criteria

  • Full GMC registration
  • Eligible to be included on the Specialist Register
Professional Qualifications/Development

Essential criteria

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent
Desirable criteria

  • Higher professional degree
  • MRCP, MRCS or other professional or higher qualification
Practical Requirements

Essential criteria

  • Ability to travel between NUH sites
  • Evidence of Level 3 Safeguarding Children (Paediatric positions only)
Clinical Skills/Experience

Essential criteria

  • Evidenced technical skills as described in the job description
  • Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families and other health professionals.
Desirable criteria

  • Specific training in communication skills
  • Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors
