Part-Time Teaching Assistant

up to £11.50 per hour depending on experience

We are looking for two enthusiastic class assistants to work part-time at the Kumon Study Centre in Bracknell which provides Maths and English learning programmes to children of all ages and abilities.

Classes are held twice weekly at Bracknell Library on Thursdays pm and on Saturdays 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Classes run all year with the exception of eight weeks when the centre is closed at Christmas, Easter and half term breaks.

Applicants for this position should be available to work in both classes, for 4 hours each week.

The class assistant role will involve:

• Providing guidance and support for early learners and new students
• Listening to students read aloud and making observation notes
• Marking and recording of homework and class work
• Ensuring students return safely to their parents after class
• Facilitating communication between parents and the Instructor
• Carrying out other reasonable duties when requested by the Instructor

The skills and experience required include:

• Proficient in both Maths and English to at least GCSE level
• Experience of working with children
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
• Close attention to detail
• Dependable and punctual

Successful applicants will be provided with full training in the Kumon learning methods and processes. They will also be expected to attend a safeguarding children course. A successful DBS check will be required.
