Kainos Role Description

Role title:
Head of Technology - Low Code

Role Overview:


The Head of Technology is a key strategic role within the business making executive technology decisions on behalf of the business, based upon strategic direction and goals.

Kainos' Low Code Practice is dedicated to solving complex customer problems using Microsoft Business Applications incl. Power platform. We empower our customers to leverage the potential of Low Code transformation, accelerating business benefits.

We are growing fast and are responsible for Kainos' investment into Low Code and developing innovative technical and delivery best practices for our customers.


The core responsibilities of a Head of Technology in Kainos include setting the Technology direction, being a technical advisor to the business and C-level clients, maintaining an edge over other technology services providers, ensuring we deliver in an ethical way, developing and nurturing technical talent across the organisation and representing Kainos as a technology evangelist.

Key responsibilities of the Low Code Head of Technology are:


People Development*:


  • Identifying, mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent in Low Code practice, aligning skills with internal capabilities, and fostering a culture of wellbeing and inclusion for goal achievement.

Strategy - Conduct strategic reviews on the technology landscape, with a medium to long term view. Coordinating with innovations teams and BD to recommend strategic decisions, managing the budget and investments aligned to this strategy.


Business Development** - Identifying business development opportunities leveraging low code technology to solve customer issues, inspiring customer and colleagues with the low code market opportunity


Communication - Articulating intricate technical objectives to non-technical individuals, fostering excitement for potential of new technologies, and representing Kainos' technology voice externally while engaging with the broader tech ecosystem.


Partner Development** - Cultivating engagement, relationships, and go-to-market strategies within the Low Code tech community, including identifying opportunities and developing peer relationships with strategic partners, while also managing the qualification, introduction, and onboarding of new partners to the Low Code Practice.


Innovation - Guiding the technology team in researching and qualifying technology shifts, recommending and driving strategic technology investments, while researching and qualifying current and future technologies.


Delivery and Assurance - Responsible for technical delivery and assurance across the practice ensuring they are delivering the required outcomes, to best practice and securely


Minimum Experience**:


  • Significant experience working in a Senior Technology role at a strategic level. You've had senior management responsibilities, including coaching and mentoring others to progress within a technical capacity.
  • Strong Technical understanding of the Low Code sector and technologies including (but not limited to) Power Platform and Microsoft Business Applications.
  • Experience of being the technology owner and being accountable for complex technology projects to production and delivering positive outcomes. Including analysing, architecting, estimating through to iteration in production.
  • Experience driving adoption of emerging technologies and approaches, effectively balancing risk and reward.
  • Experience of working within a technology consultancy business providing services to UK market.
  • Ability to create a vision, influencing others and impacting change through that vision
  • Analytical can analyses market trends and critically assess impact of change
  • Ability to develop business opportunities with strong financial management acumen
