The team you'll work with:


The Onboarding and Implementation team plays a central role in the efficient and expert onboarding of clients on to the HSBC Innovation Banking, with a focus on ensuring delivery of a positive client experience throughout the process.


Client Onboarding and Implementation Team Lead required to
support the increasing volume of UK client onboardings, some of which entail complex corporate structures and ownership drilldowns.


Supporting HSBC Innovation Banking due diligence (DD) and KYC (Know Your Customer) practices and standards at client onboarding & implementation.


Working directly with the front facing Relationship Management and Client Service teams, as well as back office Operations teams, to ensure that all new & updated client relationships undergo the appropriate levels of client identification and verification, due diligence, sanction screening and documentary approvals, as mandated by HSBC Innovation Banking's KYC, DD & AML (Anti Money Laundering) procedures, to ensure validation and completeness of onboarding packs prior to submission for account opening.


The value you'll add:


Client Onboarding and Implementation Team Lead will assist the sales teams in their onboarding efforts by providing KYC and due diligence expertise, and provide oversight of the team preparing, reviewing, and validating onboarding packs to ensure that they are accurate, complete, and orderly, and meet both external regulatory and internal audit and compliance standards.


What you can expect to be doing:

Demonstrate a clear understanding of the banks AML, KYC policies and procedures as well as technology used in relation to the onboarding processes.


Lead a team of junior onboarding professionals to support the business in respect of operational KYC/CDD and AML matters related to onboarding client business.

Work with the wider CLM team to synergise operational activities to support the business.


Performance manages onboarding professionals with regular weekly meetings to maintain and improve their performance in line with the bank's objectives.


Manage and take lead on timely resolutions of any operational issues within the onboarding team, including escalation of any issues per defined process to minimize risk or negative client experience.

Working directly with internal relationship teams to facilitate client onboarding for their portfolios.


Responsible for ensuring that all required AML/KYC regulatory compliance requirements are met, evidence recorded and filed as required by the relevant processes, procedures, and standards.


Support and work closely with the senior Managers to support the management of the Onboarding portfolio ensuring high levels of customer service, accuracy and pace.

Capturing and effectively recording appropriate data in Bank systems in a timely manner throughout the process

Ensure performance of end-to-end workflow of KYC on a wide range of client types and risk.


Support and be the first point of escalation for other teams which may include First line of business, Financial Crime, Compliance & Operational Risk, and Audit.

Act as the KYC SME and provide coaching to Analysts in order to aid development.
Requirements


The experience you need:

Must have experience in a risk or control environment.
Banking or Financial services within KYC/Onboarding required.
You must demonstrate sound judgment and strong critical thinking skills.
Stakeholder management experience required.
You must be highly detail oriented and able to grasp complex account requirements and corporate and beneficial ownership structures.
