Mon-Fri (8.00am-4.00pm)
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Project Worker you will be responsible for providing practical support to individuals accommodated in various specialist accommodation services delivered by Haringey.
This means delivering face to face, virtual and telephone-based support work to help people affected by homelessness to secure positive housing, health, employment and wellbeing outcomes.
Asa Project Worker, you will support people by completing comprehensive client assessments, safety planning and key working.You will work with people to identify their personal aims and support them to turn assessments into practical action plans.
You will be responsible for supporting people to understand their rights and responsibilities to maintain their accommodation.RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Personal experience or understanding of the issues affecting vulnerable homeless people or those at risk of homelessness, understanding and commitment to working responsively to support individuals plan and realise their aspirations and strengths.
- An ability to work proactively and respectfully to reduce distress and conflict whilst maintaining boundaries and ensuring consistency in complex and difficult situations. Understanding of/and commitment to following relevant safeguarding, health and safety and domestic violence policies.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively using telephone, face to face, written and electronic methods. Work collaboratively with the housing needs and pathway teams, providers and other stakeholders to maximise the prompt take up of move on accommodation.
- To recognise the needs for and commitment to selfcare and recognised support mechanisms due to intensity of the work. Undertake selflearning and teambased development opportunities to continuously inform practice.
EXPERIENCE:
- Maintaining detailed, evidencebased records using attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communications. Working on your own and as part of a team with mínimal supervision.
- Remaining assertive whilst responding sympathetically and with understanding to residents with personal and sometimes distressing issues.
- Working in a fast paced and busy environment, happy to take on a range of tasks and be flexible and adaptable, the ability to manage your time and organise priorities so that work is managed efficiently and to the highest of standards.
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer services, proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
Also, will be required to go through an enhanced DBS check.
