**About the role

Speech and Language Teaching Assistant**You will be working with KS1 and KS2 students with speech and language difficulties within this mainstream Primary School's specialist provision. Your role will include carrying out interventions and recording students week by week development in conversationalEnglish. You will work closely with the school's speech and language therapists and support them in improving the skills of individuals with difficulties producing and using speech, understanding language, or issues with their voice. This may include workingwith students with neurological disorders, head injury victims or those with learning difficulties that may affect their use of speech and language i.e. Autism and nonverbal students.

About the school
This Primary mainstream school for students aged 3-11 years old also has an excellent Language Resource Base onsite. The resource base serves up to 16 students from neighbouring schools who have speech and language difficulties.

It is designed for pupilswho would benefit from a mainstream placement but require additional opportunities to learn in a specialist environment that can be modified to optimise the child's experience.

Children attending the LRB receive regular, specialist support both within thebase and also in their school class. Children will receive support from speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and teaching assistants.

This ensures that children and young people can focus on the curriculum and have additional input to addresstheir specific needs.

The school is based within the Borough of Camden in Kentish Town and is easily accessible by London Underground, Overground or bus routes.
