Jan Job Description

We're 20,000 colleagues in more than 30 countries delivering oil, gas, wind and solar power to 170 million people worldwide.

Taking on tough energy challenges is our job.

Right now, we're facing an enormous task:
supplying the world with the energy it needs, while lowering emissions.

We're up for the challenge. Are you?

The position

By joining our team in Exploration & Production International you will have the opportunity to:
Work as a Lead Geologist as a core member of our growing U.K. team.

You will report into the subsurface organisation which is responsible for the efficient development of a broad energy portfolio which includes our operated and none operated oil and gas asset base, bringing forward regional value capture opportunities, and helping grow our renewables and low carbon solutions businesses.

A near-term example of a task that you might be involved in is the reservoir characterisation and efficient development of the Mariner operated asset.

As a Lead Geologist responsible for this task you will need to;

  • Integrate field data and reservoir studies (including core & image log interpretations, sedimentology, petrophysics, heavy minerals, geochemistry) to form a holistic understanding of the subsurface.
  • Develop multiple working geological conceptual models and reservoir facies schemes.
  • Use reservoir understanding to interpret 3D and 4D seismic data as an input to static & dynamic modelling.
  • Conduct uncertainty analysis to understand and manage risk.
  • Contribute with geoscientific knowledge and workproducts towards multidisciplinary reservoir and production optimisation work sessions.
  • Contribute to field data acquisition, overburden management and reservoir management strategies.
  • Contribute to digitalisation and simplification initiatives.
  • Conduct and document work according to governing documentation.
  • Interface and effectively collaborate with key internal & external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements with respect to the subsurface.
You

Some qualities are essential for Equinor.

You identify with our values, open, collaborative, courageous and caring, which guide our decisions and help us succeed and grow.

You make safety your priority and contribute to our zero-harm culture.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant subsurface discipline.
  • An ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, diverse team, prioritizing safety and value creation.
  • Skilled at prioritising competing tasks and functioning in a hightempo work environment.
  • Commercial and resultsoriented mind set.
  • Challenge established ways of working and ensure that standards, tools, technologies and work methods are developed, qualified and implemented.
  • Advanced knowledge of and a proven track record in reservoir geoscience, particularly with largescale fields in operation.
  • Experience within the following topics is an advantage;
  • Previous experience with UKCS / NCS Paleogene sequence and deep marine geology including sandstone injectites.
  • Experience with geophysical reservoir monitoring, production well planning and data acquisition.
  • Capable user of software toolkit, with experience in Decision Space Desktop and other geoscience/petrophysical platforms.
  • Working knowledge of geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir and production engineering.
