Description

To complement our teams, Public Health Wales is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic Public Health Specialist to the position of Consultant Epidemiologist/Head of Vaccine Preventable Diseases Programme (VPDP) in our Health Protection Division.

The post is at 1.0 WTE on a permanent basis.

As part of the team you will provide specialist advice and input on a range of health protection issues, leading on the response to outbreaks and incidents in the community or healthcare settings as required.

You will lead the Vaccine Preventable Disease Programme within our Division and be responsible for the strategic development, direction, planning and delivery of the VPD programme, to support the strategic goals of the Division and Trust.

To deliver objectives you will coordinate and direct the work of the programme team including clinical, scientific, information and administrative functions, and dedicated communications support.

You will also deputise for the Director of Health Protection, as required by the Director.

You will also be part of the Health Protection Out of Hours Rota and will work on call to cover shifts throughout the year providing consultant support regarding incidents and enquiries made to the service.
