This is an office based, customer facing role in Lancaster or Kirkham. The building society is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm and Saturday mornings 9-12pm.
This role will require every Saturday morning and a minimum of 3 days in the week, which can be flexible._**Are you someone who thrives in the Finance Industry? We're on the hunt for a talented Building Society Cashier who uses their knowledge and experience of the industry to work in a small Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) team to meet customer expectations and business targets.

Our Guy Penn Insurance Brokers Lancaster and Kirkham offices, whilst specialising in the placement of insurance for businesses from individual trades people to large commercial UK entities, are also agents for Yorkshire Building Society.
So, what does the role of a Building Society Cashier here involve?
This role will be made for you if you love working in a small team to provide a high quality customer facing service.
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
- Responsible for opening and closing the branch.
- Effectively process all transactions ensuring no errors are made and that the till balances at the end of each day.
- Ensure that all administration duties are performed accurately and in accordance with the YBS procedures
- Assist customers with enquires, reviews and account opening.
- Communicate and promote products and services as required by the YBS.
- Have a working a practical knowledge of the Society's risk management framework and understand the risks associated with your daytoday activities.
- Follow and understand the procedures set out in the teller and process manuals, reporting and escalating controls that are unworkable or unnecessary.
- Ensure prompt escalation of issues, incidents and complaints.
- Deal with branch compliance returns.
- General office duties including answering the phones, post etc.

It would be beneficial if you have experience gained from within the Banking/Building Society industry particularly in a customer facing role.
