School Cleaner required.

20 hours per week. Monday to Friday (5pm to 9pm), all year round.

Main responsibilities
To be responsible for cleaning designated areas of the School site as allocated by the Cleaning Manager/Estates Manager;
To use cleaning materials and equipment as instructed by the Cleaning Manager/Estates Manager;

To ensure that provided on site documentation is adhered to at all times (eg Health and Safety Policy, cleaning specifications, COSHH guidelines).


Person Specification

  • The ability to carry out general cleaning duties as detailed above.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions.
  • The ability to work without supervision, alone and as part of a team to achieve specified standards.
  • The ability to manage time effectively to compete tasks to a high level.
  • Awareness and understanding of the demands of working in a School is desirable.
  • A high level of courtesy when dealing with staff, pupils and visitors to the School.
  • Flexibility with regard to changing demands of the post and of working hours; this may include occasional weekends, morning shift or late finish.

The appointment will be dependent upon receipt of two satisfactory references, confirmation of right to work in the UK and a PVG report from Disclosure Scotland.
