To provide professional leadership in developing and delivering the highest quality Clinical Psychology service to the children, adolescents and their families, and the Health and other agency professionals working in the childcare network of agencies associated with them, where complex, often chronic mental health concerns and needs, including risk, trauma and abuse, loss, separation and self harm, are present.


This role includes taking the lead, and supporting junior members of staff in a number of CAMHS teams to develop their capacity to take a lead in training, consultation and supervision of both unqualified and qualified clinical psychologists, to colleagues within the multi-disciplinary service, and to colleagues from other disciplines in other parts of the health service and other agencies.

The role also involves initiating and supporting research and audit, both independently and as part of the area service's audit and research activities.


To provide the lead amongst psychologists across Lanarkshire in the CAMHS-LD Service, and supporting team colleagues from other disciplines, in initiating and contributing to new service developments within the team and in partnership with the local childcare network.


To ensure the creation and maintenance of good working relationships with the other agencies in the local childcare, education and health service networks.


To participate with psychology and multi-disciplinary colleagues, taking the lead as appropriate in discussions, negotiations and meetings with senior managers regarding matters of planning, strategic development standards, and service and team policies regarding clinical, operational policy, performance review, and service development matters.
