We are hiring a Commercial Manager for a leading energy contractor based in Weston Super Mare.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will play a key role in negotiating and managing main and sub-contracts across multiple projectsand assisting the project management team with variation management and CVRs.

Duties of a Commercial Manager

you will be responsible for:

Client (main) contract negotiation and management, including bonds and insurance
Subcontract negotiation and management
Major equipment procurement and management (e.g. agreeing commercial terms and LD's with power Tx supplier)
Input into strategic supply chain management
Variation management alongside PM's
Subcontract AFP management alongside Head of Finance
CVR management alongside Head of Finance and PM's

As a Commercial Manager, you need have:

Effectively represent the company when dealing with customers and consultants
Very strong negotiation skills
Experience working with listed and heritage buildings
Desire to share and influence in the future growth and success of the business
Flexible approach to accommodate the demands of an expanding company
Able to work on own initiative and be able to schedule workload to meet priorities

Excellent communication skills

Excellent telephone manner can communicate effectively, efficiently, and professionally to all customers
A logical thought process to resolve queries
Outstanding organisational skills
Ability to work on your own, demonstrating drive and initiative
Team player, willing to share ideas and techniques with other team colleagues to improve business

It would be beneficial to the Comercial Manager if you also had:

Knowledge of the construction sector
Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
Chartered or working towards chartered status
Excellent spoken and written English language skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
