Description
About AbbeyfieldAbout Abbeyfield
At Abbeyfield Taunton, we pride ourselves in offering our residents a warm and friendly place to live and thrive. We are committed to providing a high standard, of accommodation and companionship. We believe that great care starts with great people.
The Role
Northfield Court offers sheltered housing, where residents wish to remain independent, but live in a social supportive house. As one of our team, the Housekeeper role will offer you a rewarding career. Working in a sheltered house allows you to make a real difference to our residents.
You'll be there for that first greeting in the morning, welcoming chat over lunch and general companionship throughout the day.
Our staff work hard to ensure our 12 residents feel safe, and secure, working as part of a small team to deliver high quality sheltered housing.
The role of a housekeeper is diverse, and you will be expected to have a love of cooking, and able to provide meals to our 12 residents.
We have a low turn over of staff, which is a good indicator of how much people enjoy working here.
As the House manager, I am always keen to improve our ways of working, and welcome feedback from the team.
Fostering a strong relationship with my team and the residents all contribute to a house, that feels like home from home for everyone.
As a new team member, you will have access to our eLearning system, a good onboarding system, shadowing more experienced staff members, uniform, and the opportunity to progress within the industry.
We operate seven days a week, 8am-7pm so shifts vary in order to suit the needs of the residents, and the smooth operation of the house.
Within the role of housekeeper, you will have domestic shifts, that require basic cleaning of flats, along with a laundry service that we offer our residents.
About You
Warm, kind and caring are all essential qualities that we look for in anyone wishing to work here. Reliable and honest, patient and thorough are all other strong attributes that we look for.
This is a unique setting that offers a lifestyle to the residents, that enables them to feel independent, whist feeling secure in the knowledge that we are here for them if needed.
Building meaningful relationships is key to us and the residents, so that everyone feels inclusive.Rewards & Benefits
