The School for Business and Society is a research intensive and research-led teaching school, based on influential scholarship, international profile and strong links with external organisations.

Role:


This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Dean of the School, Professor Bob Doherty, on a range of funded research projects related to food systems, hybrid business models and their associated supply chains.


The Research Associate will conduct individual and collaborative funded research projects, duties to include: analysis and interpretation of research data; use of appropriate research techniques and methods; writing up of research results and dissemination through publications, seminar and conference presentations and public engagement and outreach activities; and potentially contributing to the identification of possible new areas of research.

A key dimension of the role will also be participation in collaborative interdisciplinary networks. In addition, appropriate organisational and administrative duties will be a key component of the role.


Skills, Experience & Qualification needed:


  • PhD in organisational studies, food systems and supply chains will be required.
  • Knowledge in organisation studies/food system
  • Knowledge of a range of research techniques and methodologies.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to present externally and internally and writeup research work for publication.
  • Research expertise to contribute to the public good mission of the School for Business and Society.
  • Ability to develop research objectives, projects and proposals for own and joint research
  • Competency to conduct individual and collaborative research projects
  • Ability to identify sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds
  • Experience of carrying out both independent and collaborative research
  • Experience of writing up research work for publication
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also to work independently using own initiative
