The Senior Renewable Power Consultant will utilize extensive knowledge the renewable generation industry to support clients in assessing renewable generation assets.

The senior consultant will lead a broad range of studies and other consulting services to help clients make decisions backed by business and engineering analysis.

The senior consultant will directly engage with clients to establish study objectives, formulate project approaches, and lead a team of consultants/engineers to meet the study objectives and provide the client with valuable and actionable deliverables.


  • Lead the execution of a broad range of studies, engineering, and other consulting services to support the development, analysis, design, and construction of renewable energy projects, such as site selection and feasibility studies, Owner's Engineer support, and independent engineering assessments.
  • Reviews and approves data analysis and interpretation of engineering, financial, and economic conditions and results, and subsequent technical business implications to client projects.
  • Ensures the analysis of lifecycle costs is completed accurately by reviewing the technical assumptions regarding capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, and economic assumptions and forecasts conducted by consultants and analysts.
  • Reviews technical and businessrelated risk assessments that evaluate impacts associated with rules implemented by regulatory agencies.
  • Reviews financial analysis completed by consultants and analysts using a variety of computerbased software.
  • Reviews technical reports and presentations summarizing results of analysis before providing final version to clients.
  • Execution of client presentations, engineering reviews, financial analysis, and contract administration for the design/planning of utility systems.
  • Brings a developed network and connections in the renewables sector to support business development.
  • Lead and develop client relationships.
  • Undertake and manage proposal development.
  • Mentor and train other employees on technical and business aspects of projects and the industry.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates—report project performance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the practice.
  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
  • Responsible for effective communication with other disciplines.
  • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Support business lines as required by clients.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
  • Chartered Engineer, or equivalent is desired.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge regarding development, design, and construction of renewable generation facilities, specifically focusing on wind and/or solar generation, and of electric utility systems and their operation.
  • Extensive experience with development, design, and construction of wind/solar generation projects.
  • Ability to independently execute various renewable energy studies.
  • Extensive knowledge in standard engineering, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with renewable power generation facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problemsolving environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regards to renewable generation studies.
  • Ability to independently solve difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in onsite work environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
  • Ability to focus on the big picture to effectively and efficiently provide services that meet client needs, while also having the ability to identify and analyze details that are critical to project outcomes.
  • Willingness to learn new service offerings as client needs and the market requires changes to the service offerings provided by our group
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Ability to travel.
