About The Role:


Doctors Direct launched in 2016 as part of NHS Professionals and is a leading provider of locum services to the NHS and work with partner NHS Trusts across the country. By working with a variety of NHS Trusts, including acute, mental health and community hospitals, we are regularly recruiting doctors of all grades and specialities to provide care.


Reporting into the Director of Recruitment Services, the
Head of Recruitment will have an opportunity to reshape and drive greater focus with our strategic recruitment initiatives and service delivery.


  • Management of the recruitment Teams and the development of our strategic vision for Recruitment Solutions.
  • Drive and increase shift fill across our Doctors Direct clients.

To be successful in this post you will need:

  • Extensive end to end recruitment experience from an agency, in-house or RPO background (Doctor and/or healthcare experience is advantageous)
  • Significant experience working at a senior level, including leading recruitment activity & initiatives at senior professional / strategic level in a service driven environment
  • Experience of leading and managing an operational and/or recruitment team, alongside evidence of transforming a recruitment function within an organisation is key
  • In depth knowledge of recruitment operations and be able to react to the unique challenges this presents
  • The ability to think strategically and have high acumen of commercial awareness
  • The ability to set and manage priorities and targets and manage to business SLAs
  • Extensive experience of providing effective solutions to service delivery issues
  • The ability to maintain key, positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Experience in a range of IT packages (including Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Indepth knowledge of the NHS and the wider health care recruitment and employment market
